ABOUT US

​

Established in the year 2000, the University of Toronto Cantonese Debate Club (UTCDC) is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive platform for University of Toronto (UofT) students to engage in and cultivate their skills in Cantonese debate. We firmly believe that Cantonese debate serves as a catalyst for the development of vital aptitudes such as public speaking, logical reasoning, improvisational capabilities, and innovative thinking. Above all, as proud representatives of Hong Kong, we are dedicated to promoting our rich culture, particularly our language, and instilling the values of teamwork and cultural preservation among international students. To fulfill our mission, we conduct a diverse array of activities encompassing debate training, preparation, competitive events, and public speaking engagements.

多倫多大學粵語辯論社 (UTCDC) ⾃2000年成⽴⾄今已逾18年。成⽴多年來,辯論學會⼀直致⼒為多倫多⼤學的學⽣提供⼀個開放的交流平台，⼀個讓同學們學習和參與辯論的平台。多年來的堅持，都全只因我們⼀個⼀直稟承的信念 - 透過粵辯幫助訓練同學們的演講技巧，批判思維和臨場反應。莫失莫忙，作為⾹港⼈，我們更加希望能透過粵辯去發揚和保育⾹港精神，在加拿⼤延續傳承粵語⽂化。因此，在未來⼀年，本會會繼續謹守我們的理念，為海外學⽣提供不同的訓練，辯論⽐賽以及演講⼯作坊等活動。
